House Mouse

OVERVIEW

• Very small –weighs ½ to 1 oz as an adult
• Head and body are 2 ½ to 3 ½ in.; tail is 2-4 in.
• Dark gray to light brown with lighter belly
• Large ears
• Good climbers
• Color blind
• Great sense of hearing
• Set up nests near food sources; nests made from paper, insulation, or furniture stuffing
• Mostly active at night
• Will eat almost anything, but prefers nuts, seeds, and cereal grains
• Can squeeze through openings as small as ¼ in.
