• Brown or gray and flattened
• Have forcipules, a venomous pincer-like appendage just behind the head
• One pair of legs on each segment of body
• Prefers damp areas such as under leaves, stones, boards, tree bark, mulch, cellars, and bathrooms
• Eats insects and spiders
• Can run very fast
