German Cockroach  
 
  • Small species (1/2 in.)
  • Tan to light brown with 2 dark parallel streaks running from the head to the base of the wings
  • Although it has wings, it is unable to fly
  • Most common species in houses, apartments, hotels, and restaurants
  • Prefers warm, humid places
  • Commonly found in kitchens and bathrooms
  • Because of their small size, they can hide easily and fit into very small cracks and crevices
  • Eat starchy, sugary foods, grease, meat, and beverage residues
  • Can emit an unpleasant odor when excited or frightened
