- Small species (1/2 in.)
- Tan to light brown with 2 dark parallel streaks running from the head to the base of the wings
- Although it has wings, it is unable to fly
- Most common species in houses, apartments, hotels, and restaurants
- Prefers warm, humid places
- Commonly found in kitchens and bathrooms
- Because of their small size, they can hide easily and fit into very small cracks and crevices
- Eat starchy, sugary foods, grease, meat, and beverage residues
- Can emit an unpleasant odor when excited or frightened
